Rules Banquet

Rules Banquet Results:

Most important things first - John won the post party rain game, the accompanying glory, and $23. He picked Wolff park to start the next season.

We took a vote to allow all other NSCC members 1 week to vote on the nominated ballot issues. If you missed the party, you missed your chance to put anything on the ballot.

Please send me your votes either by message, email, or carrier pigeon (certified and registered only please) by next Tuesday evening.

Feel free to leave clarification questions here for everyone else to see.

Prop 1 - Repeal section 10.7 - proposed by Brunn
This is the "Rules Party" rule, and a vote in the affirmative means that the requirement that all new rules be proposed within a week of the previous season ending would be rescinded. An against vote means that all ballot proposals must be made at a "Rules Banquet" within one week of the season ending.

Prop 2 - Back to NASCAR - proposed by John S.
Each player shall be awarded points based upon the order in which they finish in their game, with the first player out receiving 1 point, and continuing up until the final game winning player, who will receive a number of points equal to the number of players in that game. These points would be in addition to any other points awarded.

Prop 3 - Pick your Poison - proposed by Dave S.
The first game winning player can establish the format of the poison battle. They can be overridden with a majority vote by the other game winners, who can in turn be overridden by a majority vote of all players present. In the event of an override vote and no consensus replacement option, the default will be a simple poison battle.

Prop 4 - Extend the Season - proposed by Melanie
Extend the season 3 weeks further into the fall.

Prop 5 - Make preseason count - proposed by Melanie
Extend the season several weeks into the spring and abolish preseason.

*If Props 4 & 5 were to both pass, they would be applied independently, meaning a 25-26 week season.

Prop 6 - Playoffs - proposed by Dave B.
The final 5 weeks of the season will be playoffs for the top 10 players in points. The top 10 players will start a separate scoring system for the championship, and will still play amongst the general public, with one wildcard possibility TBD by consensus.

#1 - Repeal 10.7

#2 - NASCAR

#3 - Pick a Poison

#4 - Extended Season

Horace E. Randall Park

I've never been to this park before. It was actually pretty nice. They had a nice green lawn, a cool playground for the kids and even a restroom with t.p. for the ladies! Great pick John!

There is also a pavilion for BBQ'ing. We will have to keep that in mind for next time!

Gates Crescent

We would have never played this park if it wasn't for Jake asking "What park is that?" atop the Tower of Doom at Elitches. Since then the NSCC has really enjoyed Gates Crescent. It's equipped with a few different terrains to play, making a suitable match for our croquet style!
