It's funny that nobody gave a shit about Red until he won the game. Seems to me like a bunch of sore ass losers upset that they lost. If you don't complain about shenanigans WHEN they happen, then don't bring it up 4 hours later and expect other people to do something about it. Red even volunteered to give up his point, because he was in it to play croquet on a fairly interesting course, and not for the points. But yeah, complain right away or shut the fuck up.
John should have 6.
John's score corrected.
Good points Afidavit, and I wasn't in either game having heard about it later when all the games were more than half over. And it's true that people need to speak up right away when cheating or other shenanigans are occurring so it can be dealt with right away. BUT this kind of thing does need to be discouraged. I've lost count the number of times I wanted to play on another course because my course was too hard, too easy, too many good players, too many bad players, I wanted to play on this person's game or I didn't want to play with this person, etc, etc. Now it's Red's opinion that his course wasn't challenging enough, that's fine, but I asked and I saw players on that game who felt the course was good, fun and challenging. Also, Red may be noble in offering to give up his point but this isn't the NSCC + a small "containment field" that Red plays in. We do keep points. And the majority of players do enjoy keeping track and amassing them. Red's here to have fun, well we're all here to have fun. And a lot of us still manage to have fun AND abide by the rules.
Red definitely should not have done it, and the people in both of the games concerned should have put a stop to it immediately. I'm just getting tired of having people coming and bitching to me about shit that happened hours before, and expecting someone else to do something about it retroactively.
I suppose I was coming to Red's defense a bit over-enthusiastically because I felt he took a disproportionate amount of shit, both for his switch and his course, and it seemed to be more in reaction to his winning than to the actual crime.
But yeah, certainly Shenanigans.
